Our favourite thing about Jacob having the Wizzybug is seeing his independence grow. He is able to get himself to where he wants to go without depending on mum and dad. He is able to access the toys and things he wants to play without frustration, and he gets to explore being outside and the world in his own way which he absolutely loves!

Hi Candice, thank you for coordinating the appointment for [the participant] this morning. Could you please pass my thanks onto Claire and Victoria for their help this morning, and to let them know that as soon as they left, [he] got into Wizzy and started driving around the house! He ventured right across the family room, and back to the front door, went exploring in a cupboard. Thanks so much for all the team’s help. I am sure this is really going to help to open up his world.

Client's sister made contact with the equipment library for the first time after recently receiving long awaited NDIS funding for AAC software trial. Her brother had lost 3 speech pathologists over the 2 year covid period from hospital outpatient services being put under pressure. I advised her to seek a private speech pathologist to support her brother’s AAC trial as this is more timely under the circumstances. The client quickly gained a new supporting speech pathologist and can complete his software trial from recently approved NDIS funding in a timely fashion:

"Thank you so much for all your assistance in this matter Candice. The information you provided and explained to me is most helpful. Again, thank you for your time and effort in this matter, it makes such a difference to me. I need to do the best for [the participant] and having the responsibility of caring/advocating for someone with a disability that can not do this themselves is overwhelming, especially navigating all the different systems (NDIS etc). Your assistance in this matter is very much appreciated"

Hi David - thank you so much for that consultation! As you can see, [that customer] is quite tricky to engage but that was absolutely perfect. We now have some ideas to think about and most importantly, I feel [the customer] has the information to be empowered to make her own choices about her communication needs at school and into the future.

[The customer] stated that "David is amazing, I've been in contact with him!" in this instance regarding his passion and professional knowledge in the use of assistive technology in gaming. They positively commented on the equipment library's affordable pricing for short-term trial compared to supplier’s high weekly rental costs as her two clients have limited funding access for this as it was nearing the cost of outright purchase. They are now both now able to successfully trial communication technology with the prospects of purchasing if they find the devices beneficial.

Thanks so much for sending this Partner Assist book through, I am so grateful. I spoke with [the customer’s] Mum earlier today to check how she found Monday’s sessions and she found it very useful. She thinks this book will be very helpful for [the customer] so we will give this a go over the coming weeks.
